Dim Headlight on lt250r

A friend of mine has a 89 or 90 lt250r with a very dim headlight, changed his bulb and no help, there is no grounding in the wiring, anyone else run into this? any sugesstions?

I have the same problem water getsinto the stator case and shorts the stator out causeing the light to run dim even at high rpms look up ricky sy\tator and get a rewound stator
