I am looking at a 85 lt 250r and it has an engine problem. When you get on the gas its almost like it hits a rev limiter and it bogs down real bad. The guy who has it said he thinks it needs a new piston and rings because the compression isn't there. Do you guys think that is the problem or do you think that it could be something more major. The bikes engine is all original and doesnt look like its ever been touched. Thanks for your help

 

Could need a top end job... which is no big deal.

Probably needs a little re-jetting for the bogging problem.
Again, not really a big deal.

 

It could be something as simple as trash in the carb causing it to starve for fuel. Especially if it has been sitting up a while.
