Default lt 500 piston question

I own a 88 lt 500, and I am needing to get a new piston for it. it currently has a 1.5mm oversized piston in it, and i am needing the next oversize (2.0mm?). i was just wondering what kind of pistons u all used and where you got them. what is 2.0mm in inches? i'm also going to get reeds for and need some input on what works well in the 500.

Default lt 500 piston question

Hi Jon,

I've had decent luck with Wiseco pistons, however I got nearly 12 years out of my OEM Suzuki piston... so I'd say it depends on what you're wanting to do with it..
Guess I'd say if you plan to modify things heavily, I'd go with a forged piston like a wiseco...
ART/Sudco is a good cast... in fact, they are the mfg for most OEM pistons

2.0mm = .00787401"

I would look at LRD performance for a piston, as they cut additional ports on the intake side of the piston.... for a little added zoom
Otherwise, you should be able to find a Wiseco just about anywhere.. Rocky Mtn. ATV???

On the reeds... Stock aren't too bad, or V-force if you want to spend the $$ for an aftermarket cage.. boysen makes a decent reed for the stock cage... I'd recommend a 3/8" spacer for the cage while you're in there.
