I am thinking about getting a LT230....can anyone tell me about these machines. Like their power plants and handling, topspeed and reliability. thankyou for your help

 

I had a LT230 Shaft and wish I hadn't sold it for only $900.... It probably had plenty of life left in it.... Does awesome wheelies.... Now the negatives... The gas tank on the right side is kinda close if you put oversized tires on it and rubs... They don't like cold weather.... They are really light in the front and tend to flip back on you going up hills... I turned the front tires inside out and put a rack up front to increase the stability...

WEre you thinking about the sport quad (chain drive) or the utility (shaft)?

yah they are great machines, very reliable, a mechanic who rebuild my motor said they were bulletproof

 

inspect the swingarm closely. i think they're notorious for throwing chains & busting motor cases. wiggle the swingarm and if there's any slop, get new bearings. also, look real close for cracks in the pivot tube. i was lucky to find an aftermarket swingarm for mine.
