Ok, first of all I bought an 2x4 automatic Eiger about 6 wks ago. I paid $4200 plus tax out the door. No set up fees or prep fees or any other crap. Can someone reassure me that I got a decent deal? (Little late I know, but it would make me feel better.)
Next question I got a little deep in the water the other day (up to the seat). After I managed to return to shore the motor ran fine but the belt slipped terrible. I putted around for a while and eventually it ran fine (and fast) just like when I bought it. The question is did I damage anything, and when I take it in for the first service will they know and chew my ***?
By the way, its my first ATV and I can't get enough of it. Thanks for any help.

You got an OK deal, I paid a little more for 4x4 but your in the ballpark, you made a good decision though (with Eiger), about the belt slipping Ive never had that happen, but then again I probably have not been that deep before, dont be afraid to take it in, these things are designed for shi't like this. I'm not sure about your bike, but its something to look into.
Maybe someone out there has made a snorkel for your belt cover or maybe there is a way to seal it better
A friend of mine with his sportsman 500 said he snorkled his belt housing, and he said he can go through as much water as he wants without slipping. But i've never seen his set up.

as far as the tranny slipping, there is a drain plug underneath the housing. It is recommended to unscrew the plug after being in deep water to let it out. The plug is mentioned in the crappy manual that comes with the Eiger.

I love my Eiger but i would never buy a Auto on a ATV, there nice on Trailriding but working, mudding and going through some water they aint reliable at all!
