Default rear axel nut

just finished installing new rear brakes on a '04 yamaha bruin - SRA. Question; can you overtighten the rear axel nut? i needed to take a rubber hammer to a wrench to get it off. torque spec is 110 - but my torque wrench only goes to 80...so when installing the nut, i used the rubber hammer to get it tight...its damn tight. seems like the rear wheel spins hard - could it be too tight or just new the new brakes?

thanks
