i need to know how to time a 1985 yamaha moto 4 200 atv, thanks mike

there should be a dash or line on the cam sprocket and then one on the head. That is your tdc mark for the cam. Then for the crank there should be a line with a t beside it, that is your tdc mark for the crank line it up with the pointer and you will have it in time.

which side cover do you pull off for the marks on the crank?

the marks are on the flywheel and i believe its the left side case

yhea it should be the left side(as you are sitting on it) it is always on the same side as the camshaft
