Default Oil in Air Filter

I need help! I am getting oil in the air filter box at a rapid rate. It is coming from a hose that runs from the crankcase to the air intake tube on the top of the air filter box. It seems to be sucking oil from the crankcase and pushing it into the air filter box. What would cause this? And how do I fix the problem? This is a 91 Yamaha Timberwolf 230CC motor. There is also another hose coming off the bottom of the carberator that has a brass splice connected but I cannot see were it belongs any ideas on this as well.
