I turn them off when they are loaded in to the toy hauler. If I stand a quad up, I'll turn it off and run the fuel out of the lines.
The Z400 work off vacuum, so there is no need to shut them off.</end quote></div>
Technically the z400 does not have an "off" position.... it has the "PRI" setting instead.

Only when in the trailer.
The other question is, how long does it take me to remember to turn it back on. [IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>

If storing for a long time, I use fuel stabilizer mixed in with the gasoline, and then I'll run the quad for 5 minutes or so. I never drain the bowl. I think the risk of plugged jets from letting fuel sit in the carbuerator is equal to the risk of the rubber components of the carb drying out if they aren't left to soak in fuel. I've never had a leaky carb while some friends of mine have had leaks during that first after-winter wide after they've drained. I dunno, it works for me.
