Default PLEASE ADVISE!

I have no idea how to tell what year this dinnasour is but I think we are now the proud owner of an 84 LT 250 E-F. However, when we look up a manual for this ( or almost any part) the only ones we find are for 85 and up? Have owned many street bikes but this is the first atv. Do these work like cars and have a date tht is actually a year or so older than the car is considered sometimes? Also, does ANY one know if there are wheels that interchange whith this, or where to find out the ones tht have the same bolt hole patterns? I have 21x8.00-9 on the front,m and 25x12.9 on the rear. What do the #'s stand for and how do I find out what other tires and or wheels might fit my bolt patterns? Please Help! Thank's

Check the 10th digit on the VIN. It will be a letter.
z=1979
a=1980
b=1981
c=1982
d=1983
e=1984
f=1985
g=1986
and so on except the letters i,o,q & u are not used. Hope this helps.

The tire sizes are as follows: (overall tire height) x (tire width) x (rim size). So your front tires are 21inches tall 8 inches across and area mounted on a 9 inch rim. If you look on the rim and it is not too rusted you may find an additional number stamped into the rim. This is usually the bolt pattern like (115/4 or 4/115) this is 4 bolt pattern 115mm a part. They still make rims and tires for it.

I use to own a 1984/85 Suzuki LT 250. I loved the machine. That little thing was a real worker. I especially liked the separate 4wd and High Low range shift selectors. Also if my memory is correct I was able to use some parts off 84, 85 and 86 models as little was changed then except for plastics. Little thing had nearly 10k miles when I sold it and they guy I sold it to still uses it!

Sisco, that's not quite right. The VIN year digit is a letter or number, and for 1979 it was a 9, not a Z. Other than that you nailed it. But Z isn't used at all. Instead of Z it goes 1-9 then back to A-Y, excluding the 4 letters you said, 21 letters and 9 numbers to cover each 30 year period. http://www.atvstyle.com/index.php/atv-vin-number
