Default Using a Tow Strap as Plow Line....

I've repeatedly been breaking my warn synthetic tow line. Been using the long (50'?) Line and want to try a seat belt or tow strap (I would cut to size). I've read about people using them but can't figure out how to attach the drum end and the hook end? Any idea's?

If I can't figure it out or the tow strap won't fit through the hawser I will try a 10' new synthetic line. I'm thinking the long line gets buried in the winch and I know that can part a rope. I tied a bowline knot (loop) to attach to the hook, could that be adding to my problems?

Thanx!

I went from the metal cable to Warn synthetic last year. I had broken the metal cable twice and was fed up with it. I got a Warn synthetic that came with a new larger roller fairlead on the bottom. Haven't had an issue with it. Not sure what brand of quad or winch you're using but I got a shutoff switch for my plow for my Can-Am Outlander with Warn 3000 lb. winch. You attach a magnet to your plow frame and a switch is mounted where the magnet will be when you lift the frame. It shuts off the winch when it gets close enough to the switch. Neat product. Don't know if it would work on your quad/winch though. I do remember seeing something in the instructions about knots but can't remember what it was.
