Default short out

I have a 2007 scrambler 500 that I purchased in December. After I got it home, I took it for a ride only to have it completely die on me on the way back. Any suggestions on what could cause this. I have tried everything. It wants to start but nothing .

One of two things off the top of my head. One is a fusible link right off the battery that if it melts, power will be cut. Another is the ecm module. It's past the recall stage for replacements, but if the link had power in and out,the ecm being that it controls several things and has internal circuit breakers could have shorted.
