Default Powermax electric lift

I have a 1995 yamaha wolverine 350 and I am trying to figure out where I connect the 20 ga red wire. In the book it says splice the red 20ga wire to a wire supplying +12 volts only when the atv ignition is turned on. Can anyone help me please??

Thanks

Use your electrical tester to go thru the wiring and find a wire that gives you 12v when the key is on, then no power when the key is off. This way you cant run the lift or winch unless the key is on and preferably when the engine is running as they do zap a lot of power from your battery. Usually behind the key switch there are some empty plugs or wires that don't go to anything (for future accessories) that you can check for ignition on and off. Your lift wont work unless it senses 12v power.

I would look for a red wire with a white stripe. If you find one check for voltage with the key on and with it off.
