Use the manual to check out the stator and coil resistance specs along with other electrical trouble shooting checks that are in there.If these check out,then it can help narrow down the problem to a possible cdi problem. Cdi doesn't have a test and just ordering one may not solve it plus electrical parts can't be returned.

Stator has been checked that is good. The part store sent me the wrong cdi so I am waiting to get the right one. 😀. Forgot to mention that my atv is only getting spark about 1/8 times of cranking it? Sounds like a cdi problem to me just want to make sure.

If stator has been verified along with the ignition coil resistance checks,then sounds like you may have it narrowed down to a cdi.Plus you should be able to pull the kill wire from the old cdi to isolate it from the ign switch and left control and see if that helps.If not then possible cdi.

This is straight from the manual. NOTE: This engine has built--in decompression
components. Compression readings will vary in
proportion to cranking speed during the test. Average
compression (measured) is about 85--90 psi @ 400
RPM during a compression test.
A cylinder leakdown test is the best indication of
engine condition. Follow manufacturer’s instructions
to perform a cylinder leakage test. (Never use high
pressure leakage testers, as crankshaft seals may
dislodge and leak).

Service Limit 10 %
(Inspect for cause if leakage exceeds 10%)
Cylinder Compression
w/ decompression
Standard: 85--90 PSI @ 400 RPM
