Default rust question

i went to pismo beach like 2 weeks ago (saltwater) and this week i got my S-10 lifted three inches the first thing i noticed is that my differential is rusted and so are a number of other parts under my truck. i dont think this is really normal since the truck isnt even a year old, was i supposed to do something after getting back to prevent this? is there anything i could do now? or is this normal

I think there is some kind of coating you can have sprayed under your truck to protect it and prevent rust.

It's called undercoating, you can get it for like $6 a can at autozone. Rust on the underside of vehicles is normal, they're not very well coated from the factory and they will rust up quite fast.

Its normal for people like you and us. You have the saltwater that caused it. We northerners have the salt on the roads in the winter that cause it. It really sucks, but thats life. Now, for the people that live in the southwest, they don't have to worry about the rust.
