Default 23 foot Attitude Toy Hauler

Hey gang, we just bought a 23 foot Attitude toy hauler, and we love it! The only thing we would change so far, is the way the ramp secures.

I do have some questions that hopefully we can get answered.

Does anyone know if the listed 5200 lb dry weight is the correct weight? We have an 04 Chevy 2500 HD 6.0 gasser, supposedly rated to pull 9900 lbs.

We went to a family reunion on it's maiden voyage, with no toys in it. Although it pulled just fine, it seems as though the trailer weighed a lot more than 5200 lbs. Going up hills wasn't a real problem until we came up on someone else having a hard time.... then we couldn't pass them. Since my truck is supposedly rated to pull 9900 lbs., I was thinking that the listed weight on the trailer is more than the 5200 lbs. I realize that gassers don't have the torque to pass, but still all the same it seemed as though the trailer was heavier.

We have 3 quads, and occassionally a few additional dirt bikes, totalling 1400 lbs., plus the gear, water, gas etc. But like I said, this was empty except one weekends worth of clothes and food.

First off, Congrats on the new rig!
Secondly, were the tanks empty? That can make a noticable difference..
Gassers deffinatly are not rocket ships when it comes to pulling. Have you pulled with your toys in the trailer yet?
Youll probably be wishing for a diesel when you do. Dont worry, its a natural effect.
And fortunatly theres a cure for it now. So, when the time comes go out and buy your self a diesel and be happy towing your 6klbs dingy passing everyone on those 8% grades while theyre cussing at you. All the while blowing smoke!
Ahhh the joys!!!!!!!! Youll forever live happy knowing that you get GREAT gas mileage and AWSOME power.

Take 1 as needed.

Thanks, we plan on making good use of the investment. And to answer your question.... no we haven't been able to tow the trailer with the toys in it yet. I had an unexpected neck surgery, which will be post poning the quad riding for a short while. So for now, the hauler is used primarily as a regular camper until I can ride again. I already wish I had a diesel, for the aforementioned reason that you pointed out. It's rather embarrassing watching a toyota pass me on a hill! =)

Do you have a hauler? If so what brand? Any pro's cons etc?

You need to check for a manufacturer tag inside one of the cabinet doors inside the unit. Each trailer, depending on options, can weight more or less. The brochure they print gives an average weight. When you add options you increase the weight. Check the tag and then you'll know how much more you can put in it. I've been to the Attitude Manufacturing plant and they appear to put out a good product. Congrats and Good Luck

Im sure the trailer is dry wieght rated and since your truck has a tow weight of 9900( which is im sure on a flat road at the best possible situation just like the feul milage claims)so not being able to pass is normal when goign up hills even with a less than than the 9900 pound tow rate
