Default Would you trade?? Explorer for Suburban??

I have been trying to sell my 97 Explorer with no luck. I want to get a Suburban, mostly beacuse I want to buy a camp trailer and pull it and my fourwheelers. I have a guy who's willing to trade straight across his Suburban for my Explorer. Should I do it based on:

MINE: 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4, 134k miles, loaded with leather, moonroof, towing package, 4.0V6, automatic, new tires, green with light grey leather, in great condition, does need front brakes and drivers side door lock is not working right.

HIS: 1994 Chevy Suburban 1500 4x4, 208k miles, loaded, leather, towing package, 5.7 V8, automatic, new tires, new brakes, green with light grey leather, in great condition.

So there it is, mine books about $300 higher on Nada which doesn't take in account miles on 1994 vehicles, and books about $150 higher on KBB which does take in account the miles. Neither will be a daily driver for me as my wife watches kids at home and does not need a vehicle, so I drive the car daily. It will be used for camping, fourwheelers, and snowmobiling mostly. My biggest issue is the miles on the Suburban obviously, what do you guys think?

A 14 year old vehicle with 208,000 miles on it - has one tire in the scrap yard and the other three are spinning.

IMHO

Keep looking for another deal.

Only way I'd trade down would be if it were for a diesel.

With gas nearing $3.50 a gallon I'd buy a Honda Civic and put a hitch on it...lol

Personally I'd pass on that trade. With 208K that sucker is getting tired, and probably only gets about 5mpg will all those tired engine parts....

As a rule, you should never trade down in age or miles..... especially not both....

What about a 97 camaro v6 with 34k miles versus a 69 camaro with 154k miles both cherry condition? which would you trade for?

The biggest point here is miles dont mean anything. It matters how it was taken care of and treated in life.

Personnally if I had a ford I would trade it for anything that ran and drove because I will never make it in anything with that blue oval on the front(never had good luck with a ford).

I know that there are a lot of people that have never had a problem with a ford including my inlaws but as soon as I buy one it breaks down (even nearly new).
