Default Diesel Exhaust?

Im in the market for a new exhaust for my Duramax. What brands do you guys prefer? One guy told me just to cut out the muffler and run straight pipe. What do you guys think about that?
Thanks for the help.

Ed

I don't know if you will get too much of a performance gain for the dollar spent if you put an entire exhaust system in, if the motor is stock... You miht see a little drrop in EGTs...

If you are looking for sound, maybe straight pipe or a performance muffler...

With diesels, often what sounds cool running empty can really drone bad if you tow heavy.

I've helped install several MBRP systems on Powerstrokes, they went on really nice. They make them for Duramax's

That does look cool but I use every inch of my bed. I have a 91 gallon fuel tank/tool box combo.

My cousin has an MBRP on his DMax. The only thing I don't like about it is how far the tip sticks out past the side of the truck. I guess you could cut it down at the tip but I just dont understand why they made it so long to begin with...
