Default toy hauler questions

I'm starting to research toy haulers and wanting to get some ideas.
I have a 1/2 ton pick up with a max tow rating of 7300 lbs. Any suggestions between the pop up campers to the enclosed campers. I'm hoping to upgrade from my ATV to a SxS, (want to be able to take my kid riding with me and camping). I know some issues is the weight on the tongue of some of the toy haulers, that load on the front. Also some parks don't allow the use of motorized vehicles in camp area, so you have to load it up to get to the trails.
Any ideas or suggestions of a decent set up to haul a SxS, and have some luxuries of camping.
Thanks

Where will you be using it? That is a serious question. If you intend to go where there are no other options for sleeping etc, that is one thing. But if you intend to go to a riding area where there are motels, or cabins etc, then you have to ask yourself, which is more cost effective? A trailer and a Motel/cabin or writing out that check every month on something that sits in the driveway for 10 to 11 months a year, takes $ in upkeep etc. You can rent a lot of cabins for what you lay out for one of these. Your truck is too small for most Toyhaulers. Plain and simple. So you may need to figure in the cost of a trade up in that regard too. I own a Raptor TH, and I have been kicking myself in the butt since I purchased it. It is a beast to tow, I shell out $ for payments, and for what. The pleasure of using a dump station. Hmm, that Motel/cabin is looking better every day. Your average open car hauler is less than $4k. You do the math. Lastly, depending on what SxS you are looking at, very few have a door opening tall enough for some of the larger machines like your average Can-Am, Yamaha SxS etc. Many raise a bed and possibly a seating area up into the ceiling when hauling and you lose ceiling height there as well.

Well I can tell ya I am looking to sell my raptor. I bought too small. Mine does everything you can ask for, but I have gotten to that age where I want things a certain way and this unit doesn't do it for me. I have fallen in love with a much larger unit but priced at nearly 100 grand, it is a little out of my price range. On top of that, my dream truck, a 2500 Dodge with a cummins, would need to be upgraded to haul it. (trailer exceeds my truck's load rating) So I would be looking at a total outlay of $150K and at my age, I am not in position to make a commitment to that. Retirement is around the corner and this would mean working until I die to pay for it. Or tap retirement funds. And I am not prepared for that kind of a commitment. To be honest, I am really contemplating getting out of the ATV business altogether. It gets harder and harder to just load them up for a ride, and after open heart surgery, the wear and tear on the body is just about wearing me out. Might consider a side by side, but the thrill of driving just isn't the same. Maybe a bass boat... or just a plain old fashioned camper...
