After digging further I found a Champion winch that is exactly the same, as the harbor freight It even comes with a ****** block (did yours) and it does have a remote control cable. The price is 79.99, which is $10 more, then harbor freight, but the ****** block might make the difference. champion winch

okay, the link you just posted was the same one you posted before, and that's EXACTLY what mine looks like, with all the same accessories. the remote, the snatchblock, the hook for pulling out the cable , etc..

I'm guessing your Costcos have a few diffenrent items than ours too, but generally, 95% of the stuff i see in Costcos is the same everywhere. Last year we went to the Costco in Eugene and it really wasn't that different.

I'd say the snatchblock is worth $10.

The Costcos around here, don't even carry the same items If you see it, and really want it, you better buy it. No guarantee the one 10 miles away will have it. Been there, done that

I guess about the same on the ****** block. I'll let you know. I'm off to bed. Need my beauty sleep

I bought the winch today I found the champion at Kragen's, a local auto parts store. The manager was pretty coolI got it for $79. I can take it back if, it doesn't work out That's what sold me on getting it and not waiting for you to bring me one down Confused. I'll pull it out of the box tomorrow and see how it works on the Z400.

So true on the warranty Looks like I'll be in the garage today(saturday) looking at it. I'll get my neighbor over and we'll rack our brains about how to make a bracket for it. Not sure how to do it. Wondering if "U" brackets would be strong enoughProbably not Thinking I'll sandwich the frame tubes between 2 metal plates. Also need to fabricate or get a hawse [sp] roller/bracket.
