I've never gotten the replacement cost for any vehicle, auto or ATV, whether it was wrecked or stolen.

No one is going to buy you a 2018 vehicle to replace the 20 year old pos you just wrecked. You get the value of the vehicle that you insured.

When I totaled a 6 month old SUV I got a fraction of what it was worth. I didn't get anywhere near replacement cost when it still had that new car smell.

Again; you will never get the value of a new vehicle. The second you drive it off the lot it drops in value by 25% or more.

It all depends on what insurance you have. I see commercials all the time about new car replacement from Liberty Mutual. If your totaled car is under one year old and has less than 15,000 miles, New Car Replacement is an optional coverage for your Liberty Mutual Auto Insurance policy that provides you with the money for a brand new car, not just the depreciated value of your old car. I didn't have the right insurance. https://www.libertymutual.com/auto/c...ment-insurance

Remember insurance differs state go state or in Canada province to province.. u can get replacement cost for at least the first 2 years on your toys and veh. I paid extra the first 2 years on my atv for replacement. So if anything happened to it. It was replaced with the same model or newer... new... No exceptions. After 2 years the insurance was no longer valid...

I wasn't whining. If you thought so then that's on you, not me. You keep saying things like you will never get the value of a new vehicle if you have a wreck, and I pointed out that you can if you have new car replacement coverage. If you aren't willing to accept the truth that doesn't mean I'm whining. It just means you can't handle being wrong. Have a nice day.

Someone needs to look into insurance before arguing with everyone. Cannot always believe what your broker tells ya

Brokers want you to buy what they sell, and if they don't have what you want they're not going to send you to someone who does. They'll just let you think you can't get it elsewhere so you stay with them. Nearly any object you own can be insured if you're willing to pay the cost. I once read that Lloyd's of London won't insure satellites anymore after they had to pay out multi-million dollar claims on a few, but they used to. They still insure guns and accessories, but not if you get nuked. There are exclusions on every insurance policy. People have even had various parts of their bodies insured. Vehicles are really straightforward and you can get just about any kind of coverage you can think of.
