Default about the wolverine

I've had mine since 95, for me it's a real good mix of sport and work,I have no trouble leaving my son behind on his 300ex, I power slide corners just fine, with a front end disconnect kit, it would be very easy to break the back end loose like a sport quad. It has a 3.4 gallon tank, which gives me several hours of ride time, never did a real accurate mile measure, but 70 miles or more should be no problem on a tank, seems real easy on gas. Cons, it is geared more towards sport, so low speed lugging in deep mud means keeping it in lower gears, and limits the size of tires you put on a stock machine. Since it is basically a Warrior motor, all mods for a Warrior work on the Wolverine motor as well, along with the exhaust. Mine has been basically bullet proof, I've heard of some bending axles in the past with bigger jumps, but I've beat the snot out of mine, with no problems. Stock top speed is 55 plus, faster than you need to go on a lot of trails. There are bigger, more powerful quads out there, but I have not been dissapointed with mine all these years, and after the tired motor got a few new parts, and I put some money in shocks, tires and rims, it looks better, handles better, and runs like a new one. With the exception of some scuffed up fenders over the years,it still looks fine, has taken a ton of abuse and thousands of miles of trails, dunes and gravel pits, not to mention yard work, draggin deer, and pulling trailers. Until they come out with something as light, fast, and good handling that is a big improvement, I'm staying with my Wolverine for a long time to come.
