Scrambler.......500lbs..........490cc..........loo ks like a sport............drives like a ute!!!
Prairie.............600lbs..........700cc......... looks like a ute.............drives like a sport and a ute!!!!!
Decision is pretty clear
Whatever the Scrambler can do the Prairie can do better. I test drove both, and I really liked the Scrambler, but after riding the Prairie there was no comparison.
Good luck w/ your decision

The Prairie is an incredibly sporty machine. When I go to the dunes with my buddies, I can go anywhere they can go with their modded scramblers. But yet, hook us up to an elk or stick us in to a mud hole and guess who will dominate? The Prairie every time! One of the funnest things about the solid rear axle is powersliding and the Prairie takes the cake on that too.

It's still far uglier than a Scrammy and nowhere near as sporty looking.....I'll put my Scrammy up against anything as far as powersliding.....at least until I put the new tires on it.

A few things to consider.
My Father-in-Law just bought a used Scrambler 500 and I have ridden and raced it against my KFX700. Power wise, the Scrambler isn't a match for the 700cc V-Twin. I know that the P700 is 100lbs more than the KFX700, but just for the sakes of this discussion I am comparing the power of the Scrambler's 500cc motor, to the power of my V-Force's 700cc motor. Even with the extra 100lbs, I personally think it is still, "Advantage P700".
Second, you might want to consider the fact that the Scrambler is Chain driven, which does cut down on your ground clearance, as well as being another maintenance issue.
Third, the new Prarrie 700 has benifited from the KFX700 in more than just the Motor. It also gets the much improved CVT unit.
With that said, I must admit that the Scrambler is Sportier looking, but as far as Brute Force 4X4 Power is concerned, the P700 is hard to match. JMO.

OK I think I've made my decision and it's not even a model that I was originally considering. The Suzuki vinson seems to have everything that I am looking for. I'll go with the manual trans. for the added performance and invest in some aftermarket tires and wheels for the added look and performance. I like everything about the prarie but as I stated in my original post "that thing is ugly" (Call me superficial) From what I have read the vinson has good power and handles very sporty. It looks good and I think thier may even be a l.e. model in all black. Thanks to everyone for thier responses and suggestions.
