I'm looking at a 01 Honda 450es. It would be used for hunting, farm work and making ruts in the snow mobile trails. Are there any bad points to the electric shift. I get enough speed out of my Raptor, I just want to know if it's a good utility quad.

 

don;t drive a honda but a lot of my buddys do. One thing i have noticed is that in the winter when the 4 wheeler gets wet and icy the electronic shift doesn't work all the time. Gets stuck in a gear and we have to push them to get him going. hondas are overall super dependable though.

 

I have friends that have the ES and wish they didn't get it. They have gone through the woods a couple of times and have had the chip cracked. They say the manual shift doesn't give anough room to use that all the time.
