I have been ATVing for about 20 years now and i would have to say the worst 4 wheeler I ever owned, is a toss up between a 425 Magnum Polaris and the 03 Grizzly I own right now. If you had asked the worst RIDING ? I would have had to said an old 250 honda that I bought new and didn't notice that it didn't have suspension till the first time I took it trail riding. Jeeeze That thing was hard on the Back and rear, If you had asked the worst handling and steering ? I would had to have said a 300 Honda 4x4, that I later owned, think it was about a 94 model, Dang that thing was like steering a TANK, and after about 6 months water got in the hubs and it didn't have a sign of a brake, The nummies at the Local shop would just put new shoes on , with out even trying to seal it back up or get the packed mud off the drum, Needless to say I had to down it myself and sand the packed mud out and reseal the drum with a new seal, that Honda had put on wrong from the factory. Still yet none of those compare to the problems of the 425 and the Grizz. The 425 was rode on the weekends and back to the dealer every monday.(Brakes,Chain,Cooling fan,Brakes again,belt screaming,Wouldn't idle, etc) I even had to call polaris a few times to get things fixed with only 50 miles on it. The grizz I have now will vapor lock on any warm day, Let me tell you, it is no fun to be half way up a big hill or half way thru a gaint mudhole and have that thing sputter out.(all your riding buddies yelling "get a Honda or get a KAw or Get a Polaris) The local dealer just keeps saying" there is a kit to fix that " but he never gets one in and says it will cost $80 when he does. I don't know about you guys, but I would think that would be a Warranty thing. I called yammy several times but never could convince them that it should be, One woman even went so far as to tell me to trade it for an 04 , as the issue had been fixed, CAN YOU BELEIVE THAT!!!. I told here No thanks , as I would just ride My 02 400 scrambler , it is one of the fastest and best 4wheelers I have ever owned

hmmmmmmm.... well, the Timberwolves didn't hold up to repeated trailer towing of heavy loads through the swamp during one summer. Both rearends went out. but other then that, they were good bikes

we had a late 80's Moto 4 225 or 250 pure utility bike that was a pig, but a good utility bike.


They all served their purposes and were all good bikes.


My fav's by far are my current 660's!

 

I was thinkin the same thing....the worst quad that I have ever had was when I didnt have one!

Polaris has good marketing, good looks, but substandard quality on every one I have owned. Not to say the others were perfect but the quality of the big red I had when I was a kid put the polaris atv's to shame. I am sure there are people out there who have had good luck with them, but I am done with them for now, never say never but I doubt it.

 

Once again, '01 Polaris 500 4x4 = Junk. Heavy, belts suck, 300hrs and swingarm bushings were wore out and I greased them after every ride, A good idea and good engine, too bad about the quality.

 

 

My worst yamaha wolverine never could get it to run right,I have a 2003 polaris 700 will have to see on it. The best was honda 450 foreman.

 

the worst i have owned would be a blaster, that thing was a junk pile, it was nice looking but it always broke! don't buy one.

Have been really lucky, havn't had a bad one yet. Combined, 5200 miles and only $22 for repairs.

 

This is good! I haven't seen one bad Suzuki on here yet! I rode a Polaris Sportsman the other day and did not like it compared to my Eiger. The handling sucked, it was hard to steer and it made a bunch of noises and squeaks, this could have been due to someone not maintaining it properly but overall it just didn't seem to be that great.
