Some ol question
#1
Some friends here at work were talking about their atvs and the top speeds. Some of the remarks made me wonder. A couple of them have polarises and a kawasaki and a suzuki, all utility quads. Everyone one of them claimed they were running 72 to 78 mph. I have went back to a DS650 which tops around 72 maybe 74mph. Someone clear this up. Does these utility quads run this fast or are they just thinking they are going that fast? If they are running that fast then it's time to start modding my DS.

I have a 700prairie v-twin and before I made any mods, I was running about 66 by my speedo and 64 by my hand-held GPS. After I put on larger tires, my speedo reads about 69 and my GPS reads 71. But as far as I know, most of the polarisis (700&600) run about about 60. While the griz runs about 62. Everyone that I ride with (various machines) agrees that the 700 prairie is the fastest utility quad out of the box, but I don't think quite as fast as the big sport quads though. I could be totally wrong, but I know what mine is running. Just my 2 cents worth.
