Default dead spot when hot

I have a 01 wolverine and lately after riding about a hlaf hour it developes a dead spot. when i hit the throttle hard it doesnt go right away. the only reason i notice this is because ive been working on wheelies and it works fine for a while then it just doesnt go right away. After letting it sit a while it works fine again. Any ideas?

It may be overheating if its not water cooled. I have a polaris 500 watercooled and it has a little delay the longer it runs without getting a lot of air movement.
