is it a bb with the low range or sinle range tranny? my dad has a 96 big bear and a 98 or 99 kodiak 400. Both are great machines. Bulletproof we call them. as you can see we are yammy people.

 

The BB has a 5-speed with auto-clutch.

 

I still have my 96 Bear - can't kill it. Pretty much your basic 4x4 - simple, 5 spd manual with dual range. Very reliable - not a lot to go wrong. One thing I like about it is that it's small - much narrower than my Cat 500i, so it can squeeze between trees that would block the Cat. (My farm is mostly hardwood trees)
