disabled rider
#1
just wanted to drop a few lines. i was wondering if there was any disabled riders. i lost my right leg almost 2 years ago. i still enjoy riding, but cant ride like i once did. but it is still so much fun getting out and enjoying nature and life again. just wanted to say hello to everyone. i have a 2003 kodiak 400 and a polaris 330magnum 2004, had some trouble with the polaris but hopefully its fixed now. it would just shut off and then backfire. seem like it would do it when i was coming to a stop.

Well my spine is really hosed which has left me pretty crippled up. I'm getting an ATV in the next couple of months to help me with chores around the farm etc and to help me get back in the woods more.
Probably going with the Kawi Brute Force if nothing else better comes out in the next couple of months.

If you are having severe back problems due to an injued spine you may want to look at a Bombadier ATV. As you no doubt know they have several sizes to pick from but the bonus in your case may be the 'walk'' through seating arrangement. Much easier to get on and off as there is no need to 'climb' onto the seat. Just a thought so take it for what its worth.

kysupestar99,
Atta boy to you. Nice to see you getting out and enjoying like everybody else. Good example for others.
WAY TO GO.

CaptainQuint,
thud has a good idea. I would also maybe consider one of the quads with IRS ( independant rear suspension).
I'm not sure which quads have it, but it's worth it. Even more are coming out with it in 2005.
I have no doubt my Rincon is a great ride for somebody like you, even on the trails. Mine rides like a cadillac (even better than IMO) on the trails. Around the farm and stuff, the comfy ride would be awsome for you.
Good Luck, and I sure you'll finde something that will work great for you

kysupestar, Welcome to the forumAnd good for you on continuing to ride. As some of us get older, we must adapt and over-come some of the physical problems we encounter. For the most part, this is adjusting the way we ride. Which you have done Now, instead of seeing everything as a blurr, I stop and smell the roses Ride Safe Lt. I've ridden with a guy who was parallized from the chest down. I give him credit for not giving up. He also rides a Polaris SP500 and a SP700. I watched him in a mud run a month ago and one of his liegs dropped off infront of the tire. Sad thing was, he couldn't feel it until everything was pulling up into his chest. But he never gave up.
