Fastest Utility

Depends on how good a deal you get. I have heard of some people picking up a Prairie 700 for right around $6500. That would be the fastest new utility quad. You can pickup up good second hand Prairies for under $6000 no problem. Otherwise, I think the Vinson might be the next fastest and then maybe a Bombardier Outlander 400.

I can only speak for the Vinson Auto that my wife has. It tops out around 62 - 63 mph. My P650 tops out at 67-68 mph. Also, the P650 is much quicker off the start. The Vinson has great midrange, and top end, power, but lacks on the bottom. I can wheelie my P650, in high or low range, from a dead stop, or a slow roll (2-4 mph), without even tugging on the bars. Short of punching it off a small uphill, my wife's Vinson will not lift it's front end to save it's life.

I would say the Vinson is probably your best bet for the price. I ride with many other riders which have larger quads and let me tell you I can keep up with all of them even the 700s, but before everyone pounds on me let me first say this is on the trails not long straight fields or fire roads. Unless you ride in the desert or something I don't think you will ever have the chance to hit our top speek. When you hear people saying how fast their quads are they always tell you the story they they were on flat blacktop or concerete. I say what's the point if you have to do that. Most of us ride on trails; dirt, mud, rocks so you'll never see your top speed. Don't get me wrong I like to go fast and it's good to know that you have it but who really cares? On the type of trails I ride you can barely get over 30 mph. If you are constantly going over that then maybe you should be looking at the sport quads.

i agree with the above poster, i rarely get over 25 when riding, where the heck you people riding that u need to go 68, if your continuely over 40mph then you certainly don't need a utility , you should be looking at a sport quad

And I agree with the above 2 posters.. I've had the most fun riding where I have to actually use 4 wheel drive on occasion. I just wish there were more Utility style of trails (lots of rocks, mud, hills, ect..). Although, It is fun to open er up for a bit..

I'll third that remark - I've had my big Cat up in the mid 50's on pavement, but it's not something I'd recommend. Try to turn quick, brake quick, do anything quick, and things can get out of hand.
15-20 mph on a nasty, rock strewn, mud caked, tree blocked, steep inclined, rider bruising trail, now that's the Cat's element, and just about any utility's element. The sort of trail where a winch is mandatory, and a chain saw is a good idea.

Actually the V-Force 700 is classed as a utility if you go to a race so on a technicality it would be the fastest. But realisticly the prarie and possibly the brute force 750 in a straight line but the brute force is definatly not under 6500.
