The purpose of putting a pipe on an atv is to allow exhaust to more easily flow out of the engine. This decreased resistance creates hp. In order to get the benefit from this upgrade, you should let more air and gas into the atv. The way to do this is with changing the jetting in the carb.

You can put a pipe on, but if you dont jet it you wont get the maximum benefit from the upgrade.

In adding too maddog's good response, without rejetting, there is always the possibility of leaning the engine out, ultimately causing engine failure.

If you don't need a rejet, the mod is doing you no good! All you would succeed in doing is spending your money.
