Default 8"x12" / 10"x12" wheels, how big or tires can I put on? 26x10x12 and 26x12x12 fit????

Hi im wanting to know how big of a tire I can safely mount on my stock rims. They are 8"wide and 12" tall front and 10" wide 12" tall rear. The stocker tires are 25x8x12 front and 25x10x12 rear....

I want to put larger tires on but don't want to buy new rims if 26" tires would fit on just fine. I am wanting to install 26-10-12 inch tires up front and 26-12-12 inch tires on the back. This will be mail order so don't wanna mess this up, anyone have experience (good or bad) in trying to do this? or better yet is there a guide someone knows of?

I think you should be able to fit those tires on your stock rims, but I dont know if you will have problems with the tires rubbing on the inside of the fender. You may need new wheels just for the offset.

oh man if I gotta spend 500-600 bucks for new rubber my wife is gonna bitch slap me!

hmm maybe I'll just get some good all around tires same size as stock then later when I have sufficent "browny points" I'll get the 27" bigfoot kit!

then I'll have 2 sets to switch around, stocker size for all the dirt road and general run arounds then a nasty set of diggers for the hunting seasons

Thats what many people do, keep the stock set for on road or trail riding. Either that or sell the stockers and recoup some of the losses. I'd ask the question in the yamaha forum and some other grizzly owners could let you know if they tried the same thing and whether or not it worked.

That tire upgrade can be made with no problems, will fit on stock rims and willnot rub. I just put the same upgrade on my Bruin 350 with Dirt Devil 26's. Looks great!!

I was looking at 26x9.5x12s in the front and 26x12.5x12s in the rear. Both require 7" rims which the Grizzly supposedly has. I went and looked at my Grizzly and they are stamped right on the rim "6x12". SO, if I decide to spend the $$$, it's gonna be new rims for me.
