Default Video Camera

I've been wanting to show my brother who lives in Kentucky what ATV riding in Alaska is all about. I've seen those mounts for video cameras on your ATV but how do they work? Have any of you seen these or know anything about them? I would think the video would be all jumpy? I'm not worrying about the camera falling off or anything because I'll ride slow when I have it on but...

if you bolt it or tape it or whatever the hell your doing to attach it, its not going to vibrate or get wobbley if you attach it snug and strong. however, it will bob and jump as the ATV does, so i amagin puting it on the front rack and using lots and lots and lots of duct tape with a IFS should be fine

I bought one from Cabelas and have used it once or twice. It is pretty shaky on most terrain, unless you're on a fairly smooth surface. Also, the weight of the camera is enough that it wants to whip with the movement of the ride. I was concerned the camera's base mount might snap if I really hit a series of bumps. It wasn't much money though, $40 or so. A camera shop might have a better alternative.

There are a few stores around here that have the mounts just for mounting video cameras to ATVs so like I said this is not the problem and yes it's only about $20 or $30 bucks. If it's shaky then it's probably not worth getting one. Thanks.

If you have an old helmet, you can drill a hole through the top and use a bolt that fits in the hole where the tripod goes. For todays small video cameras it's not too awkward. It may look a little funny, but it works great and you get nice smooth footage wherever you look.

If you go to atv action or dw websites and do a search you will find a company that makes a remote lense that mounts just about anywhere you can think. Basiclly you where a back pack with the camera and a remote to start and stop recording.
