I have no idea if this is true or not, so dont quote me on this, but SUPPOSEDLY for 06 polaris is bumping a new engine into the 800 making it like 815CC's and its sposedly a 8 valve SOHC with real dual exaust, none of this Y-tube stuff. Remember, dont quote me, I just heard this rumor at the local ATV shop and I thought you guys would be interested.

I can smell the fed getting closer and closer to coming down on the ATV industry hard. As soon as the first 1000cc quad comes out, and some 12 year old takes daddy's machine out (unbeknownst to daddy, of course) and at 75 mph, crashes head on into Joe Public on some side road, there's gonna be "hell to pay" for the industry. The kid won't be wearing a helmet (which, at that speed, wouldn't make any difference anyway), will have his 8 year old brother on the back of the 'single rider' quad, and he'll be wearing flip-flops and no shirt. All this will be dubbed the manufactures fault and 'legislation' will be pending on limiting the size of ATV engines. Personal responsibility will have nothing to do with any of it.

I hope I'm way off base here, but I fear I'm not.

The current crop of big bore 600cc + utility atvs can go about as fast as 350-400cc sport quads. We have had sport machines since 01 that could hit 75mph or so out of the box, and the scenario you have described hasnt happened yet. I dont think engine size of utility quads will be a problem, but the weight and rollover possibilities may become an issue.

The BBK is still sitting on the kitchen table, it gets installed the week before Christmas. The BBK cost $1040, and FST claims it will double horsepower. I haven't even seen a Brute Force yet, except at the dealer.

Top speed now with my 26" tires is 63 mph (according to the speedometer), so there is room for improvement.
