Default Who will be first?

Which atv company will be the first to step up and produce a semi-auto foot shift quad larger than a 500? Like a 650, 700, 750, 800. Considering all of these sizes are available in an automatic.

Current 500cc range quads available in a foot shift semi-auto.
AC- 500 4x4 with independent susp.
Bomb- Traxter 500 4x4
Honda- Foreman 500 (475) 4x4
John Deere- 500 4x4
Suz.- Vinson 500 4x4
Kawa- NA
Yamaha- NA
Polaris- NA

There are people that prefer a foot shift over an automatic and wouldn't mind having one of the larger cc quads. So which atv company do you think will step-up first?

I have been wondering that myself, heres what i think
Yamaha= they are on an automatic kick so it is likley that they will leave the idea alone]
Kawasaki= thinks they are Polaris as well
Polaris= Get real
Artic Cat= Depends on who makes the motor for them
Honda= They are just now realizing what Disc Brakes are...........
Suzuki= Thends to be leaning a little more on what the public wants so I think if anyone does, it is likley to be them.
This is only my .02 worth. I would prefer to see a Yamaha but who knows.

I would have preferred a manual shift auto clutch big bore as well, but its just not in the cards. CVT transmissions are modifiable though, where as you would have no options with an auto clutch.

Word on the street is that Cat's 650 H1 will have the manual. I was told that by a friend of a cousin who knows this guy who was told this by his great grandfathers nephew. So take it with a grain of salt.

My best guess is SUZUKI, people were asking for it on the vinny so they did it, maybe they will do it on the KQ. I was also thinking the Yamaha Wolverine is gettting realy long in the tooth, A 660 auto clutch with switchable 4WD I would think would be a good seller for them, I realy liked the wolverine I used to have but the fulltime 4wd I think hurts its sporty side. I swaped it for a Kodiac to get the switchable 4wd. The wolverine was the last autoclutch that I had as a personal rider.

I would say the extream long shots are Kawi/honda/bomb and only after someone else does it and sells alot of them.

I would like to have one on a prairie just for the simple fact they are better at towing (durability). Its been so long since I had or even road an auto clutch I would have to learn how to ride it all over again.

I would like to see the Rincon with a semi-auto foot shift. The first time I saw the shift handle on the Rincon. I thought it looked very unfinished. It looked like a after thought to stick the shifting handle where it is. I don't think Honda will make a larger foot shift for a heel dragging while.

Kawasaki only has one foot shift and that is the Bayou 250. Kawa won't be first.

Polaris................. Enough said.

JD or Bomb.- I don't think so. Not first.

Yamaha- They've had the 660 Grizz out for a while. They would have to make a Grizz with a foot shift or come out with a new model with foot shift. I don't think it'll happen. Not first.

I could see AC come out with a foot shift semi-auto. Probably before anyone else.

I would really, really like to see the King Quad with a semi-auto foot shift. That would be the icing on the cake. (for me) I would really have to start thinking about getting one. The idea of the belt is enough to hold me back from buying one.

Some people like the automatic quads. I guess I'm just not one of them.

I'm going to guess that AC will be first.

I really don't know who would be first, but if yamaha would do it, I would contemplate getting a new wheeler. Until then I will keep riding my wolverine and slowly but surely, mod it and make it faster.
