Vinson vs KingQuad
#1
Okay I own a 2003 Vinson Auto and just bought a 2005 KingQuad. Can anyone with experience on both of these give me the pros/cons & likes/dislikes? I don't pick up the KQ until Wednesday but the biggest thing that sticks out to me are KQ's extremely small racks. What were they thinking? I'll take the extra 10 pounds for some decient racks!

Vinson 500 Auto
- Very stable on off-camber terrain
- Corners very nicely
- Good ground clearance for a SRA machine
- Good adjustable suspension & comfortable ride for a SRA
- Nice power
- Good double cargo space
King Quad 700EFI
- Low center of gravity for an IRS machine
- Easy steering
- Corners nicely but dips somewhat on tight turns
- Good ground clearance
- Adjustable suspension & comfortable ride (better than SRA)
- Power, Power, and more Power
- Good double cargo space
- Engine Breaking is very good
- Smallish racks
- Differential Lock
- EFI – no more messing with a carburetor
Summary
The Vinson is a very good machine that does everything well. It can handle the rough stuff while still light-footed giving you a very sport feel. Large gas tank and excellent gas mileage; very much needed with gas prices. Proven reliability and performance at a very low cost.
The King Quad raises the bar with its 700EFI. The statement: “There is no replacement for displacement” is so true. While not as easy to handle in the tight stuff as the Vinson it more than makes up for it in every other area: mud, steep climbs, comfort, & over-all power. Still a newcomer so reliability will only come with time but max performance is definitely there and again at a lower cost than most 700cc quads.

4xZuk,
So when are you going to break down and pick up a KQ?

Def. my next quad. Although my daughter is jonsin' for a Z400. She wants to start racing............ I'm in the middle of a hop up project no the Vinny, so, I guess I'll wait 'til it's done.
