Default installing a HMF muffler

I'm getting ready to install a HMF utility muffler on my 2004 kodiak 450 how hard are the slide on pipes to install. my dealor told me that I might not have to rejet to get low end torque. even HMF claims that just adding the muffler will produce more power. I was going to install a new air filter what kind should I get?
Thanks
