Default HMF pipe question

I 'm install a QS1 HMF pipe on my 2004 450 kodiak and I noticed a couple of things. I hit the pipe on the air cleaner box a little bit. did not hurt the box in no way but some of the thin layer and I mean thin layer of that silver paper that goes around the box came off, only about a 1 inch square spot is off. what should I cover it with. And I noticed the the muffler and pipe from HMF does not have a heat shield. does it need it.

Rap it in tin foil and a heat shield is not needed but I would use one.

Default HMF pipe question

You should be ok with the heat. The QS1 has less restriction than the stock muffler and the heat should disapate quicker.

Did you do any other mods such as airbox or jetting changes.

How is the sound and power gains.

I think there are quite a few guys interested in the QS1 but would like to hear some real test reports before investing.
