Disappointing

Its the only word that comes to mind when I think about the winters of recent years gone by, but even more so this winter. So far this year, we have spent almost as much time above the freezing mark as below it. We get stuggle to get a decient amount of snow (6" or so) on the ground through several snow storms (2"-4") and then it gets above freezing and any chance of being able to go trail riding disappears with the little snow that is on the ground.
I am a winter lover, I'd rather have snow on the ground 24/7/365 than any summer. Although I do tend to enjoy spring/fall as well. The weather men have been as big of a dissapointment as well. They predict a big storm and they either change their mind before it gets here, or they completely miss their mark and nothing or close to it. For example Friday night and Saturday the were calling for a snow storm with a total of 6-7 inches of snow. Man I was excited, they issued winter weather advisories and heavy snow advisories, hyped it up in the news and everything that we were going to get a wet, heavy snow storm. These storm total predictions remained the same even when then snow started to taper off extremely early in the morning. We ended up with barely 2 inches. My question to all the weathermen and weatherwomen is what in the world is going on. Its winter in Wisconsin, that means cold and snow, not warm and slush.
And one more thing, why can't they get the forcasts right, they just did it again. Last night they were calling for 4 inches tomorrow now they're down to about an inch and a half. I'm so disappointed.

I know what you mean man, I live in central Indiana and it was 68 degress here yesterday. I bought a new 60" American eagle plow for my brute and I dont think that I am going to get the chance to use it This weather is crazy this year

Actually i kind of enjoy it. It was 34 degrees yesterday, and the trails had just enough snow on them, but not so much that snowmobiles could use them. We had a blast powersliding and racing down the trails. Its much better than summer, because less people are on the trails, and you can ride right behind each other...with out choking on dust.
Seems to me WI has lots of winter riding opportunities, more than MN does,
I can see and sympithise with you, if you have a snowmobile. I got rid of all of mine, becuase it was getting too depressing having all that eqipment sit unused because of things (weather) out of my control. Now i just use my quads year round.

I would agree with you if the DNR had the trails open, but they don't, so I have a brand new machine sitting in my garage that I can't do anything with because I only have a half acre that I own, ridding around that gets old very fast.

I agree. This winter is starting to suck. Here in Cleveland we started getting hammered early in Dec and it was looking like another record winter. In the past 2 weeks it has been in the 40s. We even had thunderstorms last night!
Bring on the snow!

We had one week about a month ago......-25 degrees for 3 days but did it snow??????? no, no, no, and no. I love third gear naled around a noll and through a drift and so far it's been wind and rain........ this sucks.....

Well the "Snow storm" that we got last night has amounted to a dusting. That's right folks, the forcast that started with about 4" has left enough snow to make...a footprint!!! Maybe the weathermen need to start throwing their darts at the winter dartboard, might make a difference.
