I need some advice on a quad purchase. I just sold my TRX450R and I am in the market for a utility quad. My dilema is do I purchase the used Grizzly 660 for 4500.00 in my area, or do I bite the bullet and get what I really want deep down....BF750? The money is not a real big factor, but Im kinda cheap.......so the 3g's saved on the Grizzly would be nice. Problem is I dont really like the Grizz near as much as the BF. Coming from a sport quad, I feel that I will want that excelleration the BF will provide, plus Im a sucker for clowning around....ie wheelies and such. The Grizz seems to be in great shape with 312miles (2003 model). Is the BF really that much faster than the Grizz? I have not had the chance to ride a BF, but have ridden a buddies piped and jetted Grizzly.......I wasnt real impressed. What would you do?

I own a 2003 grizz with 5,000 miles on it.
The 03's have weak CV joints.
Thats the only real issue I have had with mine.
From what you said though go with the 750 brute....or take a good look at the 650 brute with the SRA.....its the best bang for your buck.

By all means get the Griz! That way all the time you are complaining about being on a ute you don't really like you can smile about the 3G's you have in the bank.

if money is not an option get what you really want, sometimes buying used is just buying somebody's problems....Somtimes. i just rode a new BF the other day cuz i too am in the market for one and i was impressed it has awesome power.

If money is not an option I would get what you want. Coming from a sport quad I would check out Kawi's big bores for sure. The P700 or BF650 SRA might compliment your sporty riding style a little better than IRS.

i agree witht the Brute23. at least check the P700 and Brute 650sra. after coming off a sport quad, you might like the sra machines better.then if you want IRS, get the 750. you will be glad you did. the grizz is a good machine, don't get me wrong, but if you want the Brute and can swing it, you'll regret it if you don't get it.

As far as speed goes you will blow up by a grizzly like it was standing still. The grizz is the benchmark ute IMO. But it is just outclassed in every aspect of engine by the brute. Comming from a 450r you will like the brute. I ride with some sport quad riders and they are impressed with how fast it rides and accelerates. Also when they have to pick their way around a mud hole I just ride through it!!

Thanks for the replies! Sometimes it takes a independent point of view to steer a person in the right direction. I know deep down I will regret not buying the Brute, even if I save some dough. My wife, although very supportive, doesnt quit understand why I am hesitant to buy a used quad........the end result is I feel a bit guilty plopping down big cash on a new one. She's giving me subtle hints to go buy the brute, so I will probably buy one today (monday). Im still thinking I will go with the IRS intead of SRA, so I will probably go with the 750. It will be nice having something I can take my son on and not have to worry about shifting and clutching all the damn time. Anyhow, thanks for the responses.

NO prob bob, I think that you would have been dissapointed with the grizz. This is comming from some1 who has a lot of seat time on the grizz. I have put about 200 miles on a grizz. And when I wanted to switch back to my brute my friend always was hesitent. And when i got it back oh god what a difference.
