Well then you have nothing to worry about. Next time you are going down a steap hill and pull up head-on to and obstacle then decide," Oops, I am such a silly boy," you will be able to back righ up with that PO-PO.

Thats right ! & if you are there too on the Brute 750 I will back up the hill & turn around & winch you back up the hill since you won't be able to use 4x4 reverse.

Thanks for the offer. No need for the winch though, with my tires and if I move to the back of the quad I would have backed up that hill and not to mention if it was that steep I would have been in 4wd already because I can shift to 4wd on the fly.

i dunno where you ride, but if you head down a mountain around here, you better have the 4X4 engaged no matter what you ride, or pay a lot of attention to the front/rear brake application. i put a lot of steep miles on a Suzuki (with manual 4X4 engagement) and always locked the 4X4 before heading downhill. there are lots of reasons people hate Brutes (the forums are full of them) but the 4X4 reverse thing is really a non issue. just flip the little switch when things start to get fun.

The 4X4 deal with the brute isn't that big of a deal, use your brain and you'll figure out how to deal with it..... That polaris vs BF750 thing is funny, I beat a popo 800 almost every race, If i don't beat him were within a 1/4 quad length......you couldn't pay me enough to get a polaris, If I get rid of my BF750 yammy is gonna get my business.....

I would not like that on the Brute. More than once I have slid into a rock or something on accident even if the hill wasn't very steep and there is no way I could back up without switching to 4x4 after I was stuck. I do not use 4x4 going down steep hills alot but I know I should--I just come from a 2wd sport quad so I got used to doing it the hard way. Plus I am the guy in the group who trys to do everything in 2wd even if it means it is more difficult or I get stuck more often. Braggign rights you know.

I don't go down steep hills in 4x4 lol

good way to flip your bike over! Sometimes if I wanna be lazy and I know whats on the hill I might go down in 4x4 low just for the ease of it....but on a truely nasty steep hill I NEVER go down in 4x4, what if there is a step in the hill and your front looses traction and it slides down the step then hit's the regular part of the hill then suddenly gains traction while the *** end of your quad is in the air? Or what if your going down a steep *** hill and all the sudden you hit some shale rock areas causing your quad to loose traction and gain speed then all the sudden it has tons of traction but the engine keeps the wheels from going fast enough to keep up with your slide?

no no no, I learned not to use 4x4 going down hills, just to keep the *** end of the quad behind me!

I aint missing out on anything by not wanting a polaris, I ride with two guys with polaris' and both say there junk, The one has a 500 hes about fed up with his polaris and is thinking about a grizzly, the other is an 800. He just rides around nice and easy cause hes tired of breaking stuff, so he just watches Me and the kid with the 500 try and outdo each other, getting stuck and just being stupid.... I can't say the BF is the perfect bike but For now it fits the bill until yammy comes out with more power.....
