Hmmmmm that is what I thought, I think it is because the CDI runs the damn HondaMatic Tranny (Piece of Chit) Honda is real proud about their Trannies and in my opinion it is the biggest flaw on the quad. A little KISS goes a long way but if you guys can dig something' up here I would sure appreciate it.

Just curious..why do you need a new cdi? The cam is the big reason the motor revs and acts the way it does...raising the rev limit or changing the spark advace aint gonna help that motor, and thats why theres no aftermarket for the cdi.
The cdi has very little to do with the tranny, its mostly mechanical.

Negative HondaBuster on the Rancher with the hondamatic the tranny is mostly controlled by the cdi. Believe me I have dug deep into the biatch.

If you're talking in terms of performance gains like the guys with the Kawasaki V-Twins are getting, forget it. Honda engines overall are just built milder than most or if they aren't, such as the new Rincon, they just aren't detuned. The only reason you see Kawasaki guys talking about how their machines were brought to life with a CDI was because Kawasaki heavily detunes the engines straight from the factory. That's not a knock on Honda, because their motors last forever, but they just generally aren't at the top of anyone's power list.
