Will my new truck pull this?
Also, worried about the tranny because when ill use it to pull ill will be going down in eastern kentucky were the rouads are very steep. Allot of up shifting im sure. And, to get the the cabin i ride at, i have to go up a mile long drive way that is really steep that switchbacks up the mountain. This wont hurt anything either i presume right.

You have got some real zingers floating about the forum.
alwaysride: That Chevy will work just fine for what your wanting to do. you may want to see about adding a transmission cooler to it (if it don't already have one) Since you mentioned towing up big hills. Nothing wrong in protectiong your investment. ,and preventing costly repair bills.

What did people tow with before the new F150? Highest horsepower? Ever heard of a Hemi? Or the Nissan Titan?

They are not that bad to install, but since your asking im going to assume that you dont have much experiance in the automotive field.?? I would recomend taking it to a transmission shop and let them install it for you. If you ask the dealers parts department they can tell you if you truck came with one, they will just need the vin# off the truck, normally its just the last 8#'s

my dads freind pulled an outland 400HO , honda 4trax250, and Cr125 dirbike from rochester NY to somwhere in kantuky with a pontiac montana!

I am not going to get into a battle what truck is the best all im saying is the Ford F150 is the ONLY truck out there that has a fully enclosed boxed frame, some trucks are unti-body, some trucks have half a frame, and some trucks have an open frame. If it was me I would feel safe and secure towing anything with a Ford F150. Your tow hitch is connected to the frame, right? On some trucks with no frame where do you connect the tow hitch? To the bumper?

I think if the frame issues were as severe as you indicate, we'd have seen quite a few recalls.
Our 06 Silverado pulls our trailer quite well. WW FK2100, dry weight of 4400, but loaded (empty holding tanks) I'd guess closer 6200. I also had the 3.73 rear end added, so it increased the towing capacity. Not that I think getting close to that rating is safe at all, it does leave me more room in any legal procedings that may arise from an accident.
