Thanks.....I prolly only ran a 5% mix, even though they call for 20% on up to like 40%......you must understand that it gets sooooo cold out here and I want a little x-tra protection

Ok, I found the link... gotta like the search feature in these forums [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] I'm not sure how credible the research was, but it is food for thought.

Chilly, the EA filters are good through the life of the oil (if you use amsoil). 1 Filter, 1 oil change, 25,000 miles[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

How many miles do you go between filter changes? Most of the people I know who extend the oil changes with synthetic still change their filters at the regular (3k mile) interval.
I'm considering using synthetic in my Toyota, but with the variable valve timing, the cleaner the oil the better for the actuator to work.
As v2 said, if you use the EA oil filter from Amsoil that is also good for the 25,000 miles. However they don't make it for every car, so I can do this on my Accord, I can't on my A6. On that one I use a Mann filter and the Amsoil 5x-30 and change every 10,000 miles.
