Default New BF650

With some help from this forum I feel I have made a decent choice with getting a new 06' BF650 sra. Now I think I will add tires and exhaust. Any suggestion on some AT25 tires? I mostly ride wooded trails, muddy conditions (not alot), snow, and in the summer the ground is hard packed and grass. Im looing for a long lasting smooth riding tire that wont cost a fortune. I will most likely keep the stock rims.
What about a slip on? Something that will give me some more power and a better bark but not excesively loud. Thanks guys!

For tires I recommenf Outlaw MST's, sold by highlifter.com or Maxxis Mudbugs. Plus you can go up in size with no issues like 26" or 27", I went to 26".

For exhaust, I have no idea or recommendations, but I would add a Dynatek CDI first. It will help more.

People love Bighorns. They wear really good and have great traction for the type of riding you mentioned. Not the greatest mud tire but they ride and handle really well.
As for an exhaust? I like the HMF utility series. These make good power and on a V twin aren't that loud. But they do make a quiet core that works well also. This is a slip-on muffler and very easy to install. Also add a K/N or uni filter to open the intake some. Jetting will be required for about any performance mod. Also theres a CDI box for them that changes the timing curve.

Ditto what Rinman said.

I am not sure, but I don't think you will need to re-jet when you add an aftermarket CDI. Exhaust, air filter, etc you probably will tho.

Also, I'd like to suggest the Maxxis All-Tracs for tires. The bighorns get great reviews, but are a little on the pricey side, altho I am sure they are worth every penny. The all-tracs will be lighter, and should be cheaper altho not as tough.

Either Bighorns, Alltracs, or MST's would do better than the stockers in leaps and bounds.

HMF, Big Gun, LRD, Pro Circuit, Supertrapp, FMF, and probably more all make exhausts for the Brute I THINK.

The FMF is stainless steel and doesn't use packing, should be less maintenance but might not get quite the power gains

Dynatek and VDI both make after market CDI'S, also Moose Utilities, Highlifter, Diamond G Racing all make low end 'modules' as well that are cheaper than a CDI. Not as good power gains tho from a module as a CDI.

Hope this helps out somewhat, just passing along info.

You shouldnt need to rejet with a dynatek. I however preferr Swamplites for all terrain tires. You can look at my pics to see them. I took a long look at Big Horns also, but ended with Swamplites.

It definately has some power, not quite as much as I expected but more than the Big Bear. Its really cold blooded and I havent rided it after it really got a chance to warm up. I think I will add the Dynatek and some tires, I think the Kenda Bear claws look cool and the Dirt Devils. Im trying to keep a lid on my budget. After taking a quick peek at the rear shock it looks like a real pain to adjust pre-load.

I have seen alot of dirt devils and swamp fox tires around here as both ad ons and replacement tires. I just saw my buddys sportsman with his swamp fox tires that were on it since day one. He has over 2000 miles and no flats and the tread looks very good all the way around. They seem to have a good tire coumpound for the price.
