i have a 1987 kawasaki bayou 185, and i was wondering if anyone had any useful information pertaining to this atv. i would like to know the top speed. i was told it did around 53mph, by a fellow bayou 185 owner, where i ride, i don't have enough room for 5th gear, so i am not sure, can the bayou 185 actually do around 53, or was i told a bunch of bull. please reply and help me, it seems to do around 36mph in 4th, is it possible for it to accelerate that much in 5th gear. please help, thank you

It is possible. A friend used to have one that would do better than 45, so if yours is tuned a littler better, it wouldn't be out of the question. I would guess upper 40s possibly lower 50s. Hard to say for sure because 10 supposedly identical machines will have 10 different top speeds.
