A UTV would be a good idea!! They will hold up the weight and reach the speeds needed. Try the Polaris Ranger. How much money are you willing to spend. A lot of this comes down to the price tag.

Ha, just kidding around frank.

Something for work and IRS but smaller than a Grizzly 700? Big Bear 400, Kodiak/Grizzly 450, Arctic Cat 366, Polaris Sportsman 400.

I guess I'm just a Po Ho. But sometimes people act like Polaris doesn't exist and I'm reminding them it does. They shouldn't hate it just because it's American. If there's another ATV that will tow a ton and someone says, I want to pull a ton, I'll tell them you have two choices. But sometimes a Polaris is the only thing that will fit the ridiculous demands they ask of an ATV or UTV, and sometimes nothing on earth will do what they want.

"I want to haul a semi-load of equipment at 100 miles an hour up a mountain and not stop for gas all day. What ATV less than 300 cc should I get as my first 4x2 sport?"

Get real people.

And he couldn't figure out why he kept burning up the clutches. 300 pounds on a 100 pound rack SHOULD work.
I know we've been reading a lot of the same stuff all day, but I'm surprised I wasn't the only one who said a Polaris would work in some of those situations. It seems like I'm the only one who says, you know a Polaris will haul twice as much. Or Polaris makes one of those too, after people suggest 20 other ATVS.

Yeah I've been bored most of the day so this has kept things more interesting. I just like playing devils advocate to some of your suggestions sometimes, just for fun.

He should swap in a bigger engine. A small-block Chevy would get him up to speed.

He doesn't want a quad like your dad's griz700 because of it's physical size or because he thinks it's just too much engine/power? If it's the size, then the 550's out as it's in the exact frame that the 700 is in...
