Default Help, my Grizzly needs some cooling!

Hey all, I don't know if any one might have some suggestions for me, but I have a '98 Yamaha Grizzly, the cooling fan that is just in front of the oil cooler has quit running. It is very siezed up. When ever I run my utility quad now, the oil over heat light comes on. I looked online and went to my dealer, a new fan for my quad is about 350 bucks!! Does any one have a alternet soultion for me that might not put such a dent in my wallet? Thanks every one!

Try Dan's Salvage, www.danssalvage.com. Or an auto parts store. They may have a blower motor that will work. According to parts diagrams, your cooling fan blade comes off.

Im sure you can get an aftermarket one at a parts store just measure the size. Most likely end up with a more powerfull one

Personally I would not be running that machine at all until you fix it.... As others have said... look around.. you should be able to get a small Automotive fan... even try the junk yard!

Check out Derale Tornado Fans -- they make small automotive fans for Radiators and for Oil Coolers... I believe the smallest they make is an 7"

I found a kit on Summit Racing - Brand new for $72.
DeRale 16507 7" Electric Fan Kit

Heck - You could even get 2 install one as a Puller fan - to pull air into the radiator...

Okay every one, I have looked at every suggestion. Every auto parts store the smallest motor is too big, I got one, but it wouldn't fit. It was too long. I looked at the one on ebay, not only was I too late, it is for a 660, I have a 600. That one cools the water on a liquid cooled machine, I need one to cool the oil. This sucks. Stupid Yamaha, The radiator leaks slightly now too do to a stick. A new raditor is over 400 bucks, that little fan is 400 also. If one more thing goes bad on this quad it will be cheaper to buy an entire new quad.
