Default Which ATV is Best for Me ?

I have been a long time Arctic Cat rider but i just think its time for a little change. I was thinking along the lines of a Can-Am 400 but the 9.3" of ground clearance makes me feel iffy. can anyone give me input on if thats enough. otherwise maybe a yamaha grizz 450. give me some input please. is 9.3 enough vs ac's 12"? i do a lot of mudding and rough riding and dont want to get hung up. thanks in advance for you help.

If you're used to a certain amount of ground clearance and ride something else with less clearance you may hit a lot of stuff like I did. I think you're the only one who can say how much clearance you need.

Once you get used to the clearance it is hard to go back. Took a friends Honda for a spin through my trails and scrapped bottom 3 times. Before I never realized that those rocks were there. My wifes outy 400 drags bottom, leaving a nice 6" wide groove where my poo does not leave a mark.

Well, everything is a trade off. A buddy has a 650 Artic Cat that has huge clearance and won't touch things that will smack my Rincon, but on the other hand both of us feel the Rincon handles better...

If mudding and clearing big obsticals are higher in your priorities than other traits, why not keep the Artic Cat? Or is there some reason you want something different?

i think im going to say screw it and keep the cat. theyve never done me wrong. just wanted more power out of a 400 and the outty would have done that but i cant lose the GC im used to. muddding and clearance are a big thing to me. thanks for your help.

Can step up to the 500 or 650 kitty. Poo has decent clearance too but didn't sound like that was in your list. When I go shopping for a new machine I keep getting a Poo in the garage. All around that is the machine that works for me. Being used to the kitty ride others will definately feel different. I do not really car for my wifes outty 400. Too bouncy, lacks power & gets stuck easier.

i wouldnt mind a 650 H1 but unless i can find one in a decent price range i probably wont be getting one. as far as polaris goes theres a POS in polaris for a reason . theyre just too heavy for me, dislike the sway bar, less GC and not a fan of autolocking difs. another reason not to get the outty. thanks for your input though.
