Which Oil?
#1
What kind of oil are folks using in ATVs? I've been told I should buy only ATV-specific oil. What's the difference and does it matter since I change the oil pretty frequently (just have to tinker)?

Stick with motorcycle grade oil for synthetic oil ,its made for wet clutches. For conventional oil I think they all work. I use to put anything laying around the yard in my old 350 Big Bear and it still runs great after a zillion miles.LOL

I'd use what the engineers who designed, built, and tested your engine recommend.
For most Hondas, that is oil that meets API standard SG or better, AND meets JASO standard MA. 10W-40 is fine for most climates during the typical riding season.
JASO MA standard is a motorcycle specific standard, and indicates the oil has the right properties for use in wet clutch applications.
Don't use anything that contains PTFE (teflon) or moly in a wet clutch bike, even if the product says it is ok for motorcycles...
